Programmes & Activities
Kopano Economic Empowerment & Tourism
This project facilitates economic activity for over 1000 persons with disabilities at several semi-independent, rural project sites as well as in the tourism industry. Where needed, we also provide training in relevant skills.
Information, Advocacy & Resource Centre
A priority is providing essential disability-related services to clients and the public, in part via information and communication technology.
The three focus areas include:
Children & Youth
The challenges this group faces and their rights is the area of our work. Services centre on the early identification of disabilities, parental support, active learning opportunities, rehabilitation and ultimately self-empowerment.
Rehabilitation & Care
At Jean Webber and Emelia appropriate and affordable permanent accommodation for children, youth and adults with disabilities are given.
Social Agenda
It is extremely important for us to create a strengthening environment in which clients are confident to make informed choices about their social options and challenges and in particular social integration.
Skills Development & Placement
With the mainstream workplace in mind, persons with disabilities are prepared. Further training of other employees within the workplaces is offered to help them better understand the issues their colleagues with disabilities face.
Accessible Transport
The journey toward self-empowerment is impossible without macro mobility. Available opportunities are not available without this crucial factor. Our vehicle fleet provides an appropriate transport service to Persons with Disabilities and furthermore we forge partnerships with other transport providers working towards the same goal.
