REHABILITATION SERVICES

The heartbeat of the APD Free State lies in the difference being made to the lives of persons with disabilities!

We deliver services to over ten thousand persons with disabilities in the Free State.

It is of crucial importance that we build strong partnerships with rehabilitation hospitals and centre to ensure effective service delivery to newly disabled persons.

We believe in a holistic approach and approach rehabilitation to persons with disabilities in that regard.

Our programmes include:

  • Information and educational programmes to protect and promote the right of
  • persons with disabilities
  • The capacity building of the community
  • Assistance in home based care to persons with disabilities
  • Economic empowerment/ income generating groups
  • Promotion and maintenance of social integration
  • Provision of accommodation/ housing/ assisted living
  • Accessible transport
  • Social welfare services
  • Visits to hospitals in the Free State to coordinate services
  • Advice on accessibility and mobility
  • Support to families of newly disabled persons
  • Job Placement services

Services focus on assisting the clients to become more independent and enhance their quality of life.
